How to Bake Tofu

How to Bake Tofu

Baked tofu is a great addition to any recipe where you may want to add texture or protein. This is not a recipe, per se. Instead, it’s a tutorial for those who are new to tofu and want to know how to bake tofu. Before we begin, here are some types of tofu available for purchase.

Silken Tofu

This tofu has a high water content. It works great for smoothies, dips and even cheesecakes.

Regular Tofu

This type is great to use for scramblers (egg-like dishes), soups and in sauces because it does a great job of soaking up the flavor of whatever it is in.

Firm Tofu

This one is also great to soak up the flavor of sauces and marinades. It can be fried, baked, etc. It works well to add texture and or protein to your recipe.

Extra Firm Tofu

Of all the tofu types, this tofu has one of least water contents. It is also great for pan frying and baking. While it does not soak up the flavors of marinades as much of the softer types, it will still take on the flavor of whatever sauce or dressing you may use.

Now onto the reason, you came to this post…. Baking the tofu
