Jambalaya Vegetarian Pizza Recipe
Vegetarian Jambalaya makes us drool just thinking about it. Add it to a pizza and man o’ man it becomes a meal that we must eat until every pizza slice is gone. And still, we crave more. This incredible pizza was inspired by our first trip to New Orleans. The Louisiana origin dish of Spanish, West African, and French influence often gets overlooked by vegetarians due to the heavy meat base. However, our Jambalaya Vegetarian Pizza Recipe makes this culinary experience veggie-friendly.

How to Prepare our Jambalaya Vegetarian Pizza Recipe
- Start by washing the peppers. Next, remove the pepper stems and cut in half. Then, remove the seeds and spines. Once chopped, set aside and place both types of peppers together.
- Now, chop the onion and dice the three cloves of garlic.
- Open the can of tomatoes. Drain the liquid, but keep because it will be added to the recipe later. If you rather use fresh tomatoes, they must be peeled. If you need guidance on how to peel a tomato, read our post How to Peel Tomatoes. Next chop the tomatoes.
- For this step, shred the cheddar cheese or vegan cheese.
- Cut the vegetarian sausage into rounds about ½ inch thick. Then, quarter those pieces.
- Next, preheat your pan with the olive oil.
- Sautee the Onion and garlic until the onions are translucent.
- For this step, add the vegetarian sausage and cook until it begins to brown.
- At this time, add the peppers and cook until they begin to soften. Keep stirring so the mixture does not burn.
- Once the mixture in the pan is ready, add the chopped tomatoes, the reserved tomato liquid, and the spices and stir to combine.
- Cook this mixture until most of the tomato liquid has been cooked off.
- Prepare your crust as per package directions; or follow your personal crust recipe.
- This is where the fun part happens, the building of the pizza.
- Add the cooked mixture to the crust, making sure to leave a half-inch space around the edge of the crust.
- Top with the shredded cheddar cheese or vegan cheese. Cook until the crust is prepared to your preference.
- Slice and Serve hot
*If the Field Roast Mexican Chipotle Sausage is used, eliminate the spices. This vegetarian sausage is flavorful enough on its own.
In conclusion, we hope you enjoy our Cajun jambalaya recipe with these wonderful vegetarian Jambalaya ingredients.
